Academic Staff Union of Universities is the body that sees to the welfare of public universities staff.
Recall that the Federal Government and Academic Union of Universities have been on negotiation before the entrance of covid-18 pandemic. The federal government declared total lockdown on all public places in the country including Universities. As public places are gradually reopening there is need that the both parties reconcile so that students in Universities can return to their learning places.
The Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil branch of the Academic Staff Union of University of Universities (ASSU-KUST) has appealed to various stakeholders for intervention to bring an end to the ongoing strike.
The Staff Union branch want the federal government to fulfill the promises she holder for ASSU in other to put an end to the lingering strike.
According to the statement, the union appealed to students, parents, Civil Society and other stakeholders to intervene in the matter and push the Federal Government to fulfill its promises.
The statement was signed by its chairman, Muhammad Gaya and its Secretary, Murtala Muhammad.
