School has resumed in all higher learning institutes in Cameroon under strict respect of barrier measures.

This thursday October 15, 2020 amphitheatres were opened again after being locked for months. In all the campuses this first day of school was dedicated to first contacts between lecturers and students. It was equally for registration and coordination meetings.

First Day Of School In Universities

In the University of Bamenda in the Northwest Region, the resumption was effective. Security has been reinforced to ensure that students learn in a peaceful and calm environment as explained during a coordination meeting between the Rector Prof. Theresa Nkuo Akenji and the head of the Gendarmerie Legion in Bamenda.

At the University of Buea in the Southwest Region the ambiance was similar to that of Bamenda as students returned to the campus for lectures. The resumption day was centred on orientation and registration for new students who are still looking for admission.
Particular attention has been put on anti corona measures and other measures to ensure that students have quality education this school year.

In the university of Maroua  Far North Region, lessons effectively started in amphitheatres this thursday October 15, 2020. Here students are all ready for online lectures thanks to the computers given the Head of State. The target of school authorities this year is to professionalise various fields.

The University of Ngaoundere in the North Region also opened its doors this thursday but the first day was focused on orientation and registration of new comers who were still struggling to secure a seat. The resumption was timid.

At The Catholic University, for Central Africa students , lecturers and school authorities answered present for the solemn reopening of the 2020/2021 academic year. New fields have been introduced this year that is political sciences and law in the Ekounou campus. This year the university want to ameliorate their offers of the various fields.

At the University of Yaounde I  new students were welcomed by lecturers for first contact. Others came to register. Classes in this school will effectively takeoff on Monday October 19, 2020. Measures prescribed by government to fight against COVID-19 are followed to the letter. Here like in other universities, there are online and physical classes.

The University of Yaounde II  is not left out. The solemn reopening took place this thursday October 15, 2020.

The day was set aside for orientation, admission and guided tours for new students. In classrooms numbers have been put on benches to practice physical distancing according to the Rector Prof. Adolphe Minkoa SHE.

At the University of Douala, things are going on smoothly with pre-registration of new students and payment of fees. However old students are back in School attending seminars , listening to lectures and doing research.

The University of Dschang in the West Region also resume classes, lecturers are ready to teach students amid the Corona Virus Pandemic.
