1. #ENDSARS: Lagos Government Shuts Down Schools Over Rising Tension

Following the refusal of Nigerian youths to bring the #ENDSARS protest to an end, the Lagos state government has directed that all private and public schools be indefinitely shut down.

Making this announcement in a statement on Monday, Kayode Abayomi the state’s Head of Public Affairs, Ministry of Education explained that the schools have been directed to close down over rising tension caused by the #ENDSARS protesters. .

 

 

2. #EndSars: Toyin Abraham Calls Out Abike Dabiri Over Release Of Protesters

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has accused the chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission Abike Dabiri-Erewa of blocking her on Twitter over the #EndSARS protest.

NGstudents earlier reported that Abraham on Twitter appealed to Dabiri-Erewa to fight for the release of Nigerian #EndSars protesters arrested in Cairo, Egypt.

3. #EndSARS: Demands Are Clear, No Need For Leader – Falz

Popular rapper, Folarin Falana, also known as Falz has stated that the EndSARS movement needs no leader as the protesters’ demands are clear.

Falz, who is the son of renowned lawyer, Femi Falana SAN, disclosed this on Monday in an interview on Arise TV and urged the Federal government to heed their demands.

4. ‘FG Should Wake Up And Provide A Future For The Youths’ – CAN

 

 

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to make the reforming of the Nigerian Police Force a matter of urgency.

This was stated in a statement on Monday by its President, Samson Ayokunle.

5. #EndSARS: “We Did Not Attack Protesters” – Kwara State Police

The Kwara State Police Command has denied that its officials were involved in disrupting the #EndSARS protest in Ilorin on Sunday.

In a statement by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, on Monday, the force said that the tweet that alleged that the police attacked Ilorin protesters is nothing but mischief and should be disregarded.

6. EFCC Denies Claim Its Official Quit To Join #EndSARS Movement

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has debunked a rumour that was been circulated that one of its officers resigned from the agency to join the ongoing protest against police brutality and bad governance.

A rumour circulated on social media claims that one Dominic Akpan, an alleged officer of the agency, claimed that he left the agency to protest against police brutality owing to the ugly experiences he had in EFCC

7. UN To Intervene In #EndSARS Protests After 30 Days?

Over the weekend, a message was making the rounds on social media, detailing the period the United Nations (UN) needs, before it allegedly intervene in a country where protests have been going on.

The post stated that the UN needs a 30-day period before it can intervene.

8. #ENDSARS: Sanwo-Olu Inaugurates 8-Man Judicial Panel, Releases Call-Lines For Complaints

The Executive Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu has, on Monday, inaugurated an 8-man judicial panel of Inquiry and Restitution to receive and investigate complaints of police brutality in Lagos.

Making this disclosure in a statement on Monday, Sanwo-Olu, who said that he is on the side of the Youths, revealed that the panel will be joined by 2 youth representatives and a member of the National Human Rights Commission in the next 24 hours.

A protest is currently ongoing in Kano state following the death of a 17-year-old boy simply identified as Saifullah.

According to Amnesty International via its Twitter page, the boy died in police custody after he was tortured by the police.
