The meeting was ongoing when reports reaching us provided that the Federal Government had assured that the lingering ASUU strike will soon end permanently.
The meeting took place at the conference room of the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige.
According to Emezie TV, Ngige who Led the government team made the declaration of permanent end of the ASUU strike when they resumed negotiation with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
“The president told me to assure you of his determination to reposition our universities as he would do everything possible to cast the present challenges in our tertiary education to the history of dustbin,” he said.
He revealed that with the federal government directive, he he was going to spend the night in the conference room until all the problems that are keeping the students away from school are resolved.
“The president has directed me to pass the night here until all issues that have kept our children away from school are resolved and strike called off. He has also directed me to impress upon you, the imperative of little sacrifice from all sides, knowing full well that the revenue of the federation has dwindled from what it had before present administration assumed office,” he said.
