The Governing council made the appointment in Otuoke during its 17th meeting on November 9, 2020 after the adoption of the joint Council and Senate Selection Board’s report which recommended him as the most qualified of the three candidates shortlisted for the selection interview.

Prof. Teddy Charles Adias, the current Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Otuoke, will take over from the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Prof. Seth Accra Jaja.
