The Minister of Labor and Employment, Chris Ngige while addressing reporters gave a clue as to when schools will resume. The Minister said the decision to call of the strike will be made tomorrow as the Federal government is set to meet with ASUU for final talks on Tuesday afternoon.
Ngige maintained that the Federal government and ASUU has reached an agreement, one he is sure would yield positive feedback from ASUU when both sides meet tomorrow.
“We have met about 98 percent of ASUU’s request. The remaining two percent are what one would call promissory notes”.
“It has been a journey of a thousand miles which you would have to take a step first”.
According to the words of the Minister, “We disagree to agree, agree to disagree. But tomorrow all agreements would be to reopen our schools”.
He also commented briefly on the free medical outreach that was launched in Ahor, Idemili South Local government of Anambra State.
