The Academic staff Union of Universities ASUU embarked on an industrial action over eight months ago, following the non implementation of the 2009 Agreement,2019 Memorandum of Action,Arrears of Earned Academic Allowance(EAA), revitalization funds among other issues.

Author,politician and human rights activist,Senator Shehu Sani,in his usual comic manner has reminded the federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities that the affected students are spending longer than usual studying their various courses in public universities,because of the rift between the striking lecturers and the Government.

Sani took to his Twitter handle to say that the strike is automatically turning all students into medical students,who usually spend up to seven years in school.

This tweet by the president of Hand-in-Hand Africa has since generated reactions Hy fellow Twitter users.

A comment read, ” Very painful. I tend to believe that non of the parties involved in this prolonged negotiation have their wards in public universities. They should have mercy for the little kids. It is well.”

Another tweeted, “[I] Ought to a graduate this November. A five years course has been made six. Ending ASUU strike this week is my only wish for November.”
