Nigeria’s soldiers are reportedly searching for the training ground of the newly formed eastern security network. This much was revealed by a video posted on Facebook by Biafra world news. In the video, Nigeria’s army trucks can be seen moving round a sparsely populated area in the east while helicopter hovers above them around the same area.
Recall that the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, recently launched the eastern security network to protect the people of the old eastern region. According to Mazi Nnamdi kanu, the eastern security network(ESN) was modelled after Amotekun in the west and the Miyetti vigilante group in the north. The federal government has since termed the outfit illegal and called for the scrapping of the security outfit.
The eastern governors have equally
distanced themselves from the newly formed eastern security network because the security outfit lack the backing of the law. Even the igbo socio-cultural group, ohanaze Ndigbo seems to be on the same page with them. Only the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere seems to have fully backed the newly formed eastern security network.
Recently, the indigenous people of Biafra(IPOB) through Emma Powerful, the proscribed group spokesman, warned all eastern governors and community leaders who have been contacted to sabotage the effort of the newly formed eastern security network to steer clear. According to Emma Powerful, embarking on such mission is suicidal .
