In spite of the dwindling revenue accruing to academic and other institutions occasioned by the COVID-19 and the attendant lockdown on economic activities globally, the Lagos State University (LASU) has again blazed the trail to promote no fewer than a total of 127 deserving members of its workforce.

This development, according to a comprehensive list released by LASU spokesman Ademola Adekoya, was the outcome of the 123rd statutory/inaugural meeting of the 11th Governing Council held on Thursday, 17th September 2020 wherein the Council considered and approved the promotion of the affected staff.

When broken down, the promotion beneficiaries are made up of Seventy-75 Academic Staff, consisting of 21 Professors, 24 Associate Professors while 30 other academic staff also got elevated to higher cadres of their career.

Also making up the list are 52 Non-Academic Staff consisting of five Deputy Registrars, One Deputy Bursar and 46 others.

It is noteworthy that the Governing Council also approved the appointment of 51 new staff members into various positions of different faculties, departments and units of the multiple-award-winning Best State University in Nigeria.
