Barely two days after the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) suspended their nine months old strike. The National University Commission (NUC) has ordered all Universities to suspend Academic activities involving large crowds on campus. the NUC in a press release said classrooms, hostel accommodation, conferences and seminars should also be suspended.

The Commission has also directed all Universities to remain closed during the intervening period and await further directive from the government. Vice Chancellors were to note that the directive is part of the measures approved by the Federal Government to cope the second wave of Covid -19 infections in the Country.

The Federal Government has also directed Officers on Grade Level 12 and below to remain at home for a five weeks period, with effect from December, 28 2020, due to Corona Virus. The affected Officers are expected to carry out their duties in the comfort of their homes and should adhere to all the Covid -19 preventive measures.
