The Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU) had called off it’s eight month-long strike that has grounded academic activities in the public universities in Nigeria.

And the minister of Labour and employment, senator Chris Ngige has disclosed when Nigeria universities will likely resume academic activities. According to the minister, academic activities in Nigeria will resume in January 2021.

Below are the Universities in Nigeria that has set up their dates of resumption;

1. Delta State University (DELSU)

All fresh students are to resume on campus on Sunday January 17, 2021, to commence academic activities for the 1st semester 2020/2021 academic session.

Returning students are to resume on Sunday, February 14, 2021.

Lectures commence for both fresh and returning students on Monday February 15, 2021.

2. Ebonyi State University

The Ebonyi State University management has announced the resumption date for continuing the 1st semester, 2019/2020 academic session.

In line with the state government directives on the re-opening of schools in Ebonyi State, the vice-chancellor has directed the resumption of full academic activities in Ebonyi State University from Monday 4th January 2021.

Accordingly, all students of Ebonyi State University are thereby notified that full academic activities would commence on 4th January 2021.

3. AE-FUNAI

Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike will resume as from 18th of January, 2021.

Lectures and Course Registration commence for all student on Tuesday 19th January, 2021 while regular course registration ends for all students on 5th February 2021.

4. Niger Delta University ( NDU)

Niger Delta University resumption date has been announced for all students and staff in the institution. The committee of provosts and Deans CPD at it’s 135th emergency meeting held on Tuesday 29th December 2020 decided to reopen the university for academic activities with effect from Monday, January 18th 2021.

5. University Of Ilorin (UNILORIN)

The management of the university of Ilorin on Thursday 31st January 2021 stated that the institution will resume a full academic session on January 1

1th 2021.

6. University Of Benin ( UNIBEN)

University Of Benin will resume as from 30th of January 2021. Lectures will be resuming on the 1st of February 2021.

7. University Of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN)

University Of Nigeria Nsukka will resume as from 18th of January 2021.

8. Obafemi Awolowo University

Online Academic Activities for 2019/2020 Rain Semester commences for all students on Monday, 4th January 2021. Students may be allowed into the university campuses from Monday 18th January 2021.

9. University Of Ibadan (UI)

University Of Ibadan will resume on Monday 18th January 2021.

10. Gombe State University

Gombe State University will resume on the 11th January 2021.

11. Bayero University, Kano

Bayero University will resume on Monday 18th January 2021.

12. University Of Jos (UNIJOS)

University Of Jos will resume on Monday January 18th 2021.

13. Federal University Of Technology Akwurre (FUTA)

Federal University Of Technology Akwurre will resume on Monday January 18th 2021.

14. Cross River State University (CRUTECH)

Cross River State University will resume on Monday 18th January 2021.

15. University Of Uyo

University Of Uyo will resume on Monday January 18th 2021.

16. University Of Maiduguri (UNIMAID)

University Of Maiduguri will resume on Monday January 18th 2021.
